Everything you need before your first rhythm-guided run.
No. HzAma runs on your iPhone. A watch can still be useful for the data you already track, but it isn’t required to use HzAma’s cadence-guided audio.
Just your iPhone and a pair of headphones or earbuds. The rhythm-guided experience works best when you can clearly hear the beat while running.
Yes. HzAma is especially useful if pacing has never felt natural. The rhythm gives your body a clear reference point, helping you run with more control from the start.
Yes. Free includes unlimited Trainer Runs, Click audio, cadence zones, a height-based Stride estimate and run history. Pro adds GPS Stride Calibration, full training programmes, Rhythm & Synth audio and training reports.
No. The beat is the mechanism, not the whole product. HzAma combines Stride calibration, cadence targeting, Trainer Runs, training programmes, run history and cadence-locked audio in one system.
Humans can synchronise repetitive movement to external rhythm. HzAma uses that principle to give each step a timing reference, making a chosen cadence easier to follow without conscious counting.
Core run audio does not depend on a mobile data connection. GPS performance can still vary with environment and device conditions.
Yes. Treadmill Calibration is available in Pro, and supported runs can show a treadmill speed based on your target pace and current Stride. For interval sessions, HzAma offers a steady treadmill version or lets you switch to Outdoor.
HzAma is currently designed around the iPhone. Check the app or release notes for current device support.
HzAma includes shareable progress/report features where available in your plan. Check Account in the app for the current report and sharing options.
It means HzAma is recommending a fresh calibration. The app tracks when you last calibrated and can prompt you when it’s time to update your Stride value.
Not for everyone. The “180 SPM rule” came from observations of elite distance runners and should not be treated as a universal target. HzAma works from your own Stride, pace and cadence rather than forcing one number. See the science page for more detail.
You may notice the rhythm immediately because you have a clear step-by-step reference. Changes to how natural a new cadence feels take repeated practice and vary from runner to runner.
HzAma is designed to make a target cadence easier to follow and to structure progressive cadence training. Faster running can be a goal, but the app cannot guarantee a speed improvement.
HzAma is not a medical product. Research has shown that modest increases in step rate can reduce several measures of hip and knee loading at a constant running speed, but reduced loading is not the same as proven injury prevention. If you are injured, speak to a qualified clinician before changing your training.
Yes, but there’s no direct integration or data syncing between them. You simply use them side by side: wear your GPS watch and run with HzAma’s audio coaching at the same time, then log the run in Garmin Connect or Strava exactly as you normally would.
Spotify’s Running Mode asks you to choose a BPM and builds a playlist to match it before you start. HzAma calculates the cadence you need from your goal, distance and measured stride, then plays audio locked to that number throughout the run — adjusting session to session as part of a training programme, not a one-off playlist you pick in advance.
For supported steady sessions, Treadmill mode shows the speed that corresponds to the target pace and your current Stride. Interval sessions offer a steady treadmill alternative or a switch to Outdoor.
Recalibrate when HzAma prompts you, or whenever you want to refresh the Stride value after a meaningful change in how you run.
HzAma’s built-in audio is designed around a beat matched to your target cadence. Standard music can still be enjoyable, but it is not controlled by HzAma as a cadence reference.
Click gives precise metronome guidance with stereo alternation. Rhythm adds immersive drum-based movement patterns. Synth creates layered generative audio designed for cadence-guided running. All modes are timed to your target cadence.
A standard metronome gives you a beat. HzAma gives you a coaching system: stride calibration, cadence targets, training structure, progressive adaptation, and audio designed specifically for the experience of running — not just a click in your ear.
HzAma offers more than 6,000 audio combinations across Click, Rhythm and Synth.
Free includes unlimited Trainer Runs, Click audio, cadence zones, a height-based Stride estimate and run history. These are genuinely useful features with no time limit — not a trial.
Pro adds GPS Stride Calibration, full training programmes, Rhythm & Synth audio and training reports. See the app for the current Pro feature set.
Yes. Pro is managed through the App Store and can be cancelled anytime in your iPhone subscription settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Check the App Store listing for HzAma’s current iPhone and iOS compatibility.
GPS and continuous audio can increase battery use during a run. Actual usage varies by device, battery health, settings and conditions. Starting longer sessions with a good charge is recommended.
HzAma is designed to keep the running experience personal. Location and motion data are processed locally on your device where possible. We do not sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for full details on what is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
